WHY ILLUSTRATION?
In a world where photorealistic CGI images are common, people might often ask if there is a place for hand sketches. To me the response is simple… absolutely!
My illustrations are a joyful, engaging and characterful way of presenting design ideas that people are drawn to.
Feedback from clients has revealed that the use of hand drawings at an early stage is preferable to digital imagery as they feel less fixed and allow their clients to be more engaged in the design process. The medium also allows for a range of iterations and options can also be quickly and easily tested throughout the design process, ultimately resulting in a richer and more successful final outcome.
My work provides a format that is accessible and easily understandable which results in designs being approved quicker by clients.
Hand-drawn illustration provides a clear representation of the design which helps to avoid unwanted surprises in the later stages of a project, but leaves enough to the imagination to retain the magic of the 'final reveal' at the end of a project.
